Individuals looking to purchase property in Turkey will be pleased to hear that a new airport is due to open in the Alanya region of the country - after a decade-long delay.
According to Overseas Property Professional (OPP), the first flights are due to take off from the destination later this month.
Despite being completed in 1999, Gazipasa Airport has remained unused because of political unrest and concerns surrounding its location, which contributed towards numerous opening dates being delayed.
A business professional, told the news provider that the destination of Alanya was already a popular tourist spot, but has lacked good transport links in the past.
"This will definitely bring more tourists and property buyers but the area around the airport is rural and needs developing," he claimed.
"Lots of Turkish and foreign investors have been waiting for this and lots of new companies will be created."
Gazipasa Airport has a predicted annual passenger turnover of 500,000 individuals.
