"Readers of the prestigious and prominent Condé Nast Traveller’s magazine have voted Turkey as their favourite destination. The magazine issues its readers with a questionnaire asking them to give places a score on ten criteria, including value for money and customer services, the scores are then collated and marked as a happiness percentage.
Turkey's score was highest 94.81%, the first time Turkey has won the award. Within the results, Turkey received top marks for range of accommodation and value for money.
Aydin Cakir, director of New Home in Turkey said of the results:
"This is a testament to the massive growth in Turkey's popularity as a tourist destination. Turkish tourism has been growing strongly since the early noughties. According to the Association of British Travellers tourism from Britain has been growing at 20-25% per year for the last few years. Turkey is a great place, with a growing infrastructure, low living costs, and friendly environment. Thus, it is unsurprising that more tourists would lead to Turkey winning awards such as the Condé Nast."
This continues to be good news for owners and those considering buying property in Turkey, because they tell of rising tourism, and will also almost certainly lead to more and more people sampling the delights of a Turkish holiday. This benefits them directly because more tourists means more occupancy and higher rental yields, and also indirectly because it will fuel economic growth in Turkey.
