Turkey has become an ideal place for Britons who wish to go overseas to hire a holiday home during the tough economic climate, it has been stated.
The managing director of Holiday-Rentals Courtney Wylie says the cheaper nature of such accommodation has proved attractive when purse strings are tight.
He commented: "While the travel industry in general struggles, demand for rentals is going from strength to strength as travellers realise they can rent a whole home for less per head than a hotel."
They can also save money by self-catering, he added.
According to the magazine, Turkey is a clear example of a country where such considerations apply, noting that its location outside the eurozone has helped keep prices down, making it a good place to invest in this kind of property.
Turkey was also recently tipped as a good place to go for ski homes.
In a feature on countries offering this at low prices, overseas investment magazine BuyAssociation noted that it is possible to spend a morning on the beach and still get up to snow-covered mountains by cable car for skiing in the afternoon.
