"Alanya is the top selling town in Turkey right now according to New Home in Turkey. Alanya is one of Turkey's top tourism spots and has always been popular with overseas buyers. So much so that Alanya has the largest population of British expats in Turkey.
The town's popularity could be increased by the now-operational Gazipasa airport a few minutes outside the town.
"In such an economically volatile time it is difficult to say whether increasing popularity of Alanya property has anything to do with the airport opening recently or not. However, when the runway expansion is complete and Gazipasa begins serving international flights then it could well boost sales of Alanya property to foreigners," said Aydin Cakir, director of the firm.
According to the firm Side is next inline. Side is one of Turkey's top coastal towns; and as well as the core package, sun, sea, sand and plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and activities, Side is also one of Turkey's most historically rich towns, including being home to one of Europe's best preserved roman-style Amphiteatres.
Antalya property was third according to the firm. This is your club 18-30 package dream destination; straight out at the airport and into the (often noisy) fun. Antalya airport is one of the best served in Turkey (and that is saying something).
Fethiye and Bodrum property also made the top 5, Cakir explained a little about why:
"As well as being a top resort town in its own right Fethiye benefits from being within 20 mins of Dalaman, another top resort town with an international airport, and 20 mins from Olu Deniz, one of the world's most beautiful spots. People can't buy property in Olu Deniz very often as it is protected, and this makes Fethiye property very popular."
"Bodrum is another club 18-30 hotspot, and also has Turkey's largest and most prolific nightclub, Halikarnas."
